In this case, there was a high anterior column fracture – this was fixed with lag screws directed posteriorly from the anterior iliac spine. Beautiful reduction and fixation.
A biomechanically advantageous way of fixing the posterior column is to get it lagged onto the anterior column by an posteriorly directed screw. This is a key feature.
